The Bartlett Hawks Girls Basketball Team completed the Naperville Central/Benet Tip Off Tourney this past weekend finishing with a win against Sandburg High School on Saturday night, 53-41. The Hawks finished 1-1 in the championship bracket ending the tourney with a 3-2 record.
Bartlett lost Friday night to Trinity High School by a score of 76-64 the eventual winner of this years tourney.
There were several standout performances for the Hawks. Bartlett was lead by Jacki Gulczynski and Ashley Santos who both averaged in double figures scoring for the tourney. Several players made valuable contributions on the boards including Gulczynski, Santos, Haley Videckis, Kristin Conniff, and Nicole Beck.
Three players (Alexa Tovella, Santos and Beck) shared point guard responsibilities beautifully distributing the ball nicely and playing solid defense. Becca Cronin, Kristin Connniff, and Katie Gutzwiller provided scoring off the bench.
Valuable defensive contributions were also made by Sam Salinas and Rachael Anello. Nicolette Gutzwiller, Dani Marciniak and Shannon Sebestin also saw time contributing in their various positions.
The Bartlett Hawks will resume play this weekend facing upstate 8 rival Waubonsie Valley on Friday night at Waubonsie Valley and will be at home on Saturday vs. West Chicago.
ALSO... On November 25 the girls basketball team defeated Oak Forest by the score of 65 to 54. The win puts the Hawks at 2-1 in pool play qualifying them for the upper bracket in the Naperville Central/Benet Girls Tip Off Tourney.
Ashley Santos lead all scorers with 24 points. She contributed 5 rebounds and 5 steals as well. Jacki Gulczynski battled inside and had 13 points and 6 rebounds with 2 blocked shots. Haley Videckis chipped in with 10 points and 7 rebounds along with 2 assists.
Other key contributors include Kristin Coniff who had 7 points, 4 rebounds and a blocked shot. Nicole Beck had 5 rebounds with 2 assists and 2 steals. Alexa Tovella played a poised game scoring 6 points with 2 assists. Sam Salinas led the team in assists with 3.
