Mission Statement

Bartlett School's mission is characterized by parents and teachers working in unison to provide a caring, enriching and stimulating learning environment for each child.

  • To help all students learn and reach success to their fullest potentials
  • To encourage interest in learning - to teach how to learn
  • To develop students' self-worth
  • To recognize that every child is special, with gifts to offer others
  • To develop positive communication between all involved - students, teachers, parents, and community

In so doing, students will be successfully schooled intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically, and be prepared to be responsible contributing members of society.

Instructional Programs and Support for Student Learning:
The District Improvement Plan guides the work of School District U-46. The plan is directing the district efforts to achieve the goal of Academic Success for All Students. To meet this goal, the district has developed the Curriculum Roadmap. The Roadmap provides an overview of the curriculum at each grade level.

Parent Involvement:

The parents at Bartlett Elementary School work hard to support the efforts of teachers and the learning experiences of their children. They particularly are supportive of the technology efforts in the school. They also provide classroom teachers with resources for teachers to improve the learning environments in their classrooms and obtain additional teaching materials.

  •   PTB (Parents and Teachers of Bartlett)

    • Safety Committee - parents and teachers work together to supply items like "safety bags" that contain everything form emergency cards to flashlights so teachers can just grab the bag as they leave their classrooms in emergency situations. The work of the committee will expand to support the safety of the students.

Community Involvement:
At Bartlett Elementary School, while learning is a top priority, students are also provided with lessons in caring about others. Students are involved in a number of activities that benefit others. The Student Leadership Council helps decide on the school's charitable projects. After hearing about a fellow student with a serious health problem the students began collecting coins for an organization that helps people with the disease. Sometimes news events prompt them into action. Whatever the source, students and families at Bartlett Elementary School have the spirit of caring.
