The first year of high school can be a notoriously difficult time for young students. BHS strives to overcome freshman jitters with the Link Crew Program. The Link Crew program links upper classmen up with a crew of freshmen. Link Crew leaders are upperclassmen recommended by their teachers.  The Link Crew provides an orientation for freshmen to acquaint them with the ways to seek success in high school.  Whether it is showing freshmen the best route to classrooms, navigating the lunch line, or singing the school fight song, all the unknowns are revealed to the freshmen.

During their first weeks at school members of the Link Crew are present in their distinguishing t-shirts to provide a helping hand to a stressed freshman when needed.  As the first semester ends and finals loom ahead members of the Crew are available to help with peer tutoring and support for these first time BHS students.  The new students are encouraged to expand their friendship base and make new friends in the school and expand their horizons, a skill that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.
