Eastview Middle School Faculty

The teachers at Eastview work in cores of reading, language arts, math, science and social studies. Because each teacher is working with the same group of students they can share ideas and strategies and really understand each student’s strong and weak areas.

Core teachers meet weekly to discuss teaching strategies and ways to improve learning for their group of students. During this time teachers can share what is working with a particular student and what they can do as a group to meet the needs of each child. This is also a time to coordinate so cross-curricular lessons can take place. For example in social studies students may study World War II, in reading they may focus on the book Diary of Anne Frank, and in writing students may practice their skills by writing as a Jewish person in Germany during this time in history.

Teachers also have study sessions before school when students can come in if they need a little extra help. They monitor their students’ progress and encourage them to go to Homework Club if that is something they need to be successful learners.
