The mission of Streamwood High School is to foster learning as a life-long process.  We believe hard work, regular participation, and positive attitudes result in maximum academic achievements.  All school experiences should encourage respect for others, promote good citizenship, and impart the values necessary to enjoy a quality life.

Student Learning:

The District Improvement Plan guides the work of School District U-46. The plan is directing the district efforts to achieve the goal of Academic Success for All Students. To meet this goal, the district has developed the Curriculum Roadmap. The Roadmap provides an overview of the curriculum at each grade level.

Instructional Areas - information on content and curriculum in the different instructional areas. Sabre Center - a resource center providing tutoring available all day and after school. The center is staffed by teachers, peer tutors from SHS and student tutors from Roosevelt University.  

  • High School Information -  provides information on the U-46 high school programs, and courses.
  • Support Services
    • SAP (Student Assistant Program) - headed by pupil personnel services that develops   individual student intervention plans
    • Extended periods for freshman math & science (selected students)
    • Freshmen students in team
    • Fresh Start - tutoring support for students with developing English language skill
