Welcome
to U-46 Early Learners
The early learners program in U-46
is a partnership of family, school and community working collaboratively
to provide comprehensive services to young children. Services are provided
by highly-trained early childhood professionals. Curriculum and practices
that are appropriate for the child's developmental level are used to
meet the
diverse needs of young children in a culturally sensitive environment.
Attending an early education
program can help get young learners off to a good start in their more
formal learning experiences.
It provides opportunities
for:
-
improving self-help skills
-
increasing self-confidence
-
improving language development
-
enhancing motor development
-
encouraging appropriate
social skills
- beginning a life-long interest in learning
Certified Early
Childhood teachers are supported in their work with the children by
classroom assistants, therapists, social workers, nurses and others.
In addition to the team working with students at school, the children's
early learning experiences also need the active support of parents to
be successful. It is important that parents are partners with the staff
throughout their child's education.
U-46 offers the following
learning opportunities for young children:
- preschool
- kindergarten
- screening
These services are offered
in Spanish and English.
We hope this site will provide
answers to some of your questions and provide some ideas for activities
for young children through the links section.
