EMERGENCY LUNCH PROCEDURES

 

 

Dear Parents/Guardians,


We know that you have been concerned about changes in the school lunch menu after a snow day or emergency day. This information should help you understand the problems and the options you have regarding your child's meal.

 

The Food Service Department prepares approximately 13,000 elementary lunches each day. Because of the large volume, we can not prepare, pack and deliver lunches all in one day. All lunches are packed at the Eastview Commissary and shipped to schools the next day. After a snow day or emergency day it takes two days to return to the published menu as a result of the emergency day.

 

We know this is an inconvenience and that the students may be disappointed with the lunch they receive, bur our priority is to have lunch available if students want to eat at school.

 

As parents/guardians you have an option after an emergency or snow day. Discuss with your child, the possibility of menu changes, then:

  1. Ask the child to take a school lunch even if it is not what he or she ordered.
  2. Bring a lunch from home. If your child would prefer to bring a lunch from home, the Food Service Lead will credit your child's account for that day. Your child will be allowed to purchase milk for 40 cents.

 

We are all concerned with this matter and want everyone to be completely satisfied. We will do our best to make sure all students will have a lunch after an emergency or snow day

PROCEDIMIENTOS DE COMIDAS DE EMERGENCIA

 

Estimados Padres/Guardas,

 

Sabemos que a ustedes les preocupan los cambios en el menú de comidas despues de un día de emergencia. Esta información es para ayudarles a entender los problemas, y las opciones que ustedes tienen.

 

El Departamento de Servicios de Comidas prepara apróximadamente 13,000 comidas de escuelas elmentales todos los días. Por este gran volúmen, no podemos preparar, empacar y distribuir las comidas el mismo día. Todas las comidas son empacadas en la Comisería Eastview y distribuídas a las escuelas al próximo día. Como resultado de el día de emergencia, se tarda dos días para regresar a las comidas que indica el menú publicado.

 

Sabemos que esto es una inconveniencia para ustedes y los que estudiantes estarán desolucionados con la comida que les tocará, per nuestra preoridad es de tener una comida lista para que los estudiantes coman en la escuela.

 

Como padres/guardas ustedes tienen una opción despues de un día de emergenica. Discutan con su niño (a) la posibilidad de un cambio en menú, entonces:

  1. Aconséjenle al niño (a) que acepte la comida aunque no sea la que el/ella ordenó.
  2. Traer una comida de casa. Si su niño (a) prefiere traer comida de casa, la Supervisora Gerente de Comedor le dará un crédito por el día. Su niño (a) sera permitido comprar una leche por 40 centavos.

 

A todos nos concierne este asunto y queremos que todos esten completamente satisfechos. Nosotros haremos todo lo possible de asegurarnos de que todos los niños tengan comida despues de un día de emergencia.
