How School Meals Work

 

If you are new to the lunch program – here's how it works for

ELEMENTARY STUDENTS . . .

  • Student breakfast is $1.25, and lunch costs $2.40 per day. (Lunch may be offered free or at reduced rates for income-eligible families – ask for an application at your school office– feel free to call our office, 847-888-5000, extension 5034.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS . . .

Your child may open an account to purchase food in our high school cafeterias. Middle and high school breakfasts are $1.25 lunches cost $2.40 per day. Send your check to school. Include your student's ID #. Cafeteria cashiers will scan your child's student ID (like a credit card) for purchases made against their account.

 

FREE AND REDUCED-PRICE LUNCH

School District U-46 has implemented a policy for free and reduced-price lunch and breakfast for those students unable to pay the full price for meals under the National School Lunch & School Breakfast Programs. The following link provides information on household size and income criteria that is used for determining eligibility.
