•  Janine Shelley reviewed the Instructional Technology positions that will be open next year and thanked members for serving on the committee this year.

•  Janine Shelly gave an update on the EETT Competitive grant that was submitted at the beginning of the month. Grant recipients should be notified by June 6.

•  The committee reviewed the Instructional Technology Survey results. Conclusions were as follows:

It is evident that teachers are continuing to expand their technology skills through a variety of learning options. They are receiving much of their technology skills training from their buildings and within the district. Most teachers are comfortable using basic features of word processing, e-mail, and Internet applications for instructional or personal use. Only about half of the U46 teachers use word processing and Internet skills with their students at least once a month.

At this point in time students who are using computers at school are using them for finding information, word processing and intervention programs.

•  Jeff Lake led the committee in a discussion of the type of web sites they would recommend being blocked. The filtering plan will be developed during the summer and presented to the Instructional Technology Committee in the fall for review.
