Committee Members: Denise Fischer, Hilly Curda, April Johns, Betsy O'Connell, Patricia Makishima, Melanie Meidel, Janine Shelley
- ISafe: Instructional Technology Facilitators (ITFs) in all buildings will received training on Internet safety through the ISafe program taught by Phil Morris, Director of Technology, Kane County Regional Office of Education. ITFs will present information to building teachers and support presentations to students and parents in the District. Topics included in the training:
Sexual predator identification and prevention
Social Networking site: Blogging, text messaging, online chatting
Cyber bullying
Indentity theft, SPAM, bots
Copyright, plagiarism, intellectual property
Viruses, malicious code, security
- Professional Development: ITFs are required to participate in 16 hours of professional development during the school year. Instructional technology funds are also be used to provide technology-based graduate courses and mini-courses that directly align with District instructional initiatives
- Student information system: This year a committee will begin to identify and implement a plan to adopt a new student information system.
- Technology deployment in buildings: Janine Shelley, Instructonal Technology Coordinator, will meet with building administrators and technology committees to identify technology deployment and needs in buildings.
