MINUTES

 

Committee Members: Joan Hull, Hilly Curda, Perry Hayes, Janine Shelley, Richard Schroeder, Sandra Stringham, Betsy O,Connell, Jana Hite, Manuel Martinez, Jeff Lake, Kathryn Smith, Dave Smiley

 

•  Review of Web Publishing Procedure and Checklists (Janine Shelley)

•  The Web Publishing Procedure will be revised to omit the professional development requirement and included in the employee handbook
•  The Staff Web Publishing Checklist will not be used.
•  The Authorized Use Policy signed by parents will be revised to include student web publishing

 

•  Update on Internet Filtering ( Jeff Lake )

•  Jeff Lake reported that principals/department heads/building administrators will become web reviewers and be allowed to unblock sites.
•  Committee members recommended that some sites be opened for a limited amount of time, 20 minutes or so, and then blocked. Jeff Lake will look into that capability.

 

•  Tech Plan initial description and first steps (Janine Shelley)

•  Work completed on technology planning over the past two years was presented to the committee for review.
•  The committee decided that a technology plan ad hoc committee will meet to draft the technology plan and present the plan to the ITC. ITC members will be invited to participate in the ad hoc committee. The ad hoc committee will be representative of ES, MS, HS, ELL, special education, gifted, and early childhood.
•  Tech plan writing will begin in November.
