Storytelling w/Digital Tools OEDS 6364

Description: 1 graduate credit hour, 12 CPDUs

This course is an introduction to digital storytelling and suitable for educators of any technology experience level. Digital storytelling is the process of capturing personal stories, first by writing, and then by extending that writing with the inclusion of powerful multimedia elements.

Web Page Design OEDS 5312 (Now based on use of MetaDot

Description: 1 graduate credit hour, 12 CPDUs

In this class you will learn how to effectively create and design web pages, define a color scheme, find and make links to other websites, create calendars, copy pictures into web pages, copy backgrounds, copyright laws and how to publish websites. We will use the district web design program to make our web pages. You will develop a personal web page. This class is designed for staff members with any level of skills.

Online Technology/Classroom Applications OEDS 5639

Description: 2 graduate credit hours, 24 CPDUs

This online course is designed for classroom teachers. Using cases and online resources as a launching point, teachers will be given the opportunity to participate in on-line discussions regarding beliefs, best practices, challenges, current research, and examine ways to apply them to their own teaching practice. Case studies will follow a problem-solving methodology enabling teachers to revise and improve lesson design. Participants will design a technology enhanced lesson based on course content. Two of the 10 sessions will be face-to-face.

Technology & Literacy OEDT 5008(Pending AU Approval)

Description: 1 graduate credit, 12 CPDUs

This course is for teachers grades PreK-12. It is designed to build a solid and comprehensive foundation of technical and curriculum integration skill for effective use of teaching literacy in PreK-12 curriculum that aligns with the U46 Curriculum Roadmap. Course participants learn how to use the Internet for effective curriculum integration, develop high level thinking skills in their students, and the ten most effective teaching strategies. This course is for all levels of computer skills.
