To be information literate, a person must be able to recognize when information is needed and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and effectively use the needed information.

The mission of the library is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas, and information. This mission is accomplished when:

  •      Intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats is provided in the library.
  •     Instruction to foster reading skills, an interest in reading, and the ability to find information and ideas is provided.
  •    Collaboration with other educators to build learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
