Eduardo Perez, a senior at Elgin High School, has accepted a four-year full ride scholarship to Stanford University in California. He plans to major in Chemical Engineering.

Perez, a member of the Gifted & Talented Academy, currently serves as president of the Paul Flory Chapter of the National Honor Society at EHS. He is a member of French Club and French National Honor Society, and participated in the STLF (Students Today, Leaders Forever) volunteer service trip last spring through the EHS Student Council. Perez is a three-year recipient of the Rotary Club Award (for straight As), and is among the Top 10 academic students in the Class of 2013.

In addition to his other activities, Perez is a three-sport varsity athlete (soccer, swimming, track), and was voted captain of the EHS varsity soccer team both as a junior and senior. This year, he has been integral in bringing a boys swim team back to EHS for the first time in several years.

His parents are Jose and Margarita Perez.
