Reading Recovery
Reading Recovery is a short-term intervention of one-on-one tutoring for first graders in need of extra support to develop their reading skills. The program is a supplement to classroom teaching and individual students receive a half-hour lesson each day for 12-20 weeks. A specially trained Reading Recovery teacher works with students. As soon as students can read within the average range of their class and can continue to progress on their own, their lessons are discontinued and new students begin the process.

READ 180

READ 180 is a comprehensive reading intervention program designed to help students in elementary through high school improve their reading skills and achieve at a more proficient level. These students may have gaps in their understanding of the reading process and basic skills. READ 180 addresses individual student needs through instructional software, high-interest literature and direct instruction of reading skills.

The program targets skill development in the following areas:

  • Text Comprehension
  • Vocabulary
  • Spelling
  • Writing
