The District Improvement Plan 2006-07
The work of the 2006-07 District Improvement Plan keeps the focus on improving student learning. The plan provides a structure that aligns all the work of the district through the six pillars: Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment; High Priority Schools; Fiscal Responsibility; Leadership; Data Management; and Public Trust & Support. As with any structure, the pillars all support the over-arching goal of academic success for all. While the pillars are organized as separate areas of work, they are interdependent. To learn more about each pillar as well as read monthly updates please click the links on the right side of the page.
Work will continue this year on implementing the Curriculum Roadmap at all grade levels. Additional attention will also be given to refining services to our special populations, including Early Childhood, English Language Learners, Gifted Education, and secondary students eligible for Honors and Advanced Placement courses.
Other pillars will focus on creating financial stability while using funds effectively to provide maximum dollars for student learning. Work will continue on building a data management system that will align with the Curriculum Roadmap and provide educators with the student information they need to ensure students have successful learning experiences.
The district will work to inform the parents and community members of the activities, work and successes of the employees and students of U-46.
On May 7, the Board of Education approved the 2007-2008 District Improvement Plan. Specific information on this plan has been posted on the web site.
