  • Preschool Fair at Bartlett Library

    Saturday January 5th, 2019. Give Me Five! shared the message of Getting Ready for Kindergarten through Talk, Play, Read, Do and Write to over 70 participants.  Parents gained information about Dual Language programs and applications as well as who to contact for developmental screening.  Give Me Five! reminded parents of the upcoming Kindergarten Rally.

     

  • Preschool and Childcare Information at Gail Borden Public Library

    Saturday January 19th, 2019. Give Me Five! shared the message of Getting Ready for Kindergarten through Talk, Play, Read, Do and Write to over 103 participants. Handouts for the upcoming Kindergarten Rallies were available for parents with children entering kindergarten.  Parents who were interested in School District Preschool programs were given additional information about eligibility and the screening process.

     Screening Event at Food for Greater Elgin

    Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019. Sponsored by a collaboration of EPEL, Easter Seals, Gail Borden Library and U-46 Give Me Five! Parents were given the opportunity to do an online screening for their child and meet with representatives to learn about programs and services offered for families with young children. On this day, one family took part in the screening and took home books to read! Two other families received information about Kindergarten Rally events coming up in February.

    Greater Elgin Family Care Center

     

    Thursday January 24th, 2019. Greater Elgin Family Care Center hosted the Northern Illinois Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry at the Eastside Rec Center to keep families and volunteers warm. Give Me Five! and Greater Elgin Family Care Center were available with resources and great information for children and families. The Gail Borden Public Library donated puzzles for our youngest learners while older children receive books. Families received Getting Ready for Kindergarten calendars and Kindergarten Rally information. Fifty eight families stopped by to get food that would feed 261 individual family members.
