  •  VNA and Northern Illinois Food Bank Mobile Food Pantry

    Tuesday, April 16th, 2019. Give Me Five! participated by sharing Early childhood resources for some of the 117 families who stopped by. Older children were able to pick out their own chapter books while younger children took home bubbles and an activity focusing on the Give Me Five! message.

     

  • Independence Center for Early Learning Community Resource Fair

    Wednesday, April 17th, 2019. Give Me Five! along with a couple of the Parent Educators from our P.A.T. program met with families to share information about the important role that parents play in ensuring their children are ready for learning in Kindergarten.  One lucky parent won the Give Me Five! basket of books raffle.

  • Storytime at Jet Xpress

    Wednesday, April 24th, 2019. Give Me Five! made an unannounced stop at Jet Xpress with Story time and an art activity of kite making. These brothers enjoyed picking additional books off the shelves to read with Ms. Yesenia.

    Saturday, April 27th, 2019.  The snow didn’t stop over families from coming to celebrate the Day of the Child!  Children who stopped by the Give Me Five! table took home bookmarks and Getting Ready for Kindergarten calendars.

  • Empowered Pregnancy at Advocate Sherman Hospital

    Tuesday, April 30th, 2019. Learning Begins at Birth! Give Me Five! partnered with EPEL and Advocate Sherman Hospital’s “Empowered Pregnancy” Program to present to the 11 expecting parents on the importance of parents are a child’s first and most important teacher and using the Give Me Five! message will help ensure that their children are ready for learning in Kindergarten. Parents took home a Mouse Paint Book and a book mark highlighting how to incorporate Talk, Play, Read, Do and Write while reading!
