5Essentials and Parent Participation

  • All U-46 parents are encouraged to take the 5Essentials Survey to weigh in on the strengths of the culture and learning environment at your child(ren)’s school as well as those areas that could be improved. This 15-minute, research-based survey provides a unique opportunity for parents to have a voice in improving our schools. This mobile friendly survey is available in English and Spanish and is completely confidential. Parents with children enrolled in multiple school may complete a survey for each school. Just remember to hit “Submit” at the end of the survey so that your results are recorded.

A school must receive completed surveys from at least 20 percent of its students population in order to generate survey results and receive a report. As of March 11, all but six schools have met the parent participation requirement. To see if your school has met the parent threshold, look to the table below. Schools with an asterisk have met the threshold. But even if the participation requirement has been met, the survey is a vital way that parents can contribute your opinion and help improve schools in our U-46 community. Thank you!
