The purpose of this organization shall be to support the education of children at Channing Memorial Elementary School by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.
What does a PTO do?
We do lots of things! One of the things we do is to help raise money for our school. The PTO is responsible for coordinating Fiesta Channing, the Fall Fundraiser, the Spring Dance and other fun activities for the students and their families. The money we raise is used to support a variety of things for the teachers, students and the school. Did you know the PTO contributes $5 per student every year to field trips?
We could do much more, but we need VOLUNTEERS. Anything you can contribute is needed and appreciated. If you think you don't have anything to offer - contact us. I bet we can find a meaningful way for you to contribute. Everyone is welcome and valued.
Let's focus on building the kind of school community where teachers and students can do their best work. Research shows that when parents get involved in their children's education, the children do better in school and the school as a whole becomes more successful.
