Our Schools

School District U-46 serves nearly 36,000 children in grades preschool through 12 and students in Transition programs within its 11 communities, including Bartlett, Elgin, Hanover Park, South Elgin, Streamwood and Wayne, and portions of Carol Stream, Hoffman Estates, St. Charles, Schaumburg and West Chicago. The district ranks as the second largest in Illinois, with 38 elementary schools, nine middle schools, and five comprehensive high schools. In addition, the district supports two early learning centers, an alternative high school, and a transition program.

Our Boundaries

Every school in School District U-46 has a boundary area. A boundary area determines which students in a geographical area are eligible to attend a specific school. More specifically, each residential address in the District is linked to a boundary area. Review the boundaries for elementary, middle, and high schools, using our interactive boundary map.
