Planetarium to Host Public Sky Shows on Stars of Winter

School District U-46 will be hosting public sky shows in December at the U-46 Planetarium. The shows on Monday, Dec. 3 will include a look at the stars of the winter sky and information on the upcoming Geminid meteor shower and winter solstice. Doors open at 4 p.m. The first hour-long show gets underway at 4:30 p.m., and the second show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Seating is limited and no reservations are taken. Admission is $3 per person or $10 maximum per family, cash only. Discretion is advised for children ages 5 and under due to time in the darkness and the length of the program. The Planetarium is located at 312 Watch St., at the corner of Watch and Raymond streets in Elgin. Free parking is available in a lot at corner of Raymond and National streets, one block away.
