Visit the Gail Borden Library on 7/24 for help with online registration
July 18, 2019
It is hard to believe, but the start of classes in School District U-46 is less than a month away! For returning families who still need to complete the registration process for their children, an event this month will allow them to get in-person help.
U-46 and the Gail Borden Public Library are partnering to offer online registration assistance on Wednesday, July 24 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event will be held in the main library’s computer center at 270 N. Grove Ave. in downtown Elgin.
It is specifically aimed at families who attended U-46 schools in 2018-19 and who are having difficulties registering online for 2019-20 or who need access to a computer or Internet connection.
Parents or guardians are asked to bring proof of their current home address, and if possible, the yellow registration form they received in the mail in the spring containing a username and password. No appointment is needed. You can find more info here.
Families who are new to the District for the 2019-20 school year are asked to please call the Registration Department at 847-888-5000 ext. 5715 (ext. 5016 for Spanish.)
Mobile health clinics, sponsored by Advocate Health and VNA, will be present to see a limited number of students who do not have insurance, or are on public insurance, between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the registration event at Gail Borden Public Library on July 24. Greater Elgin Family Care Center will have a representative present to schedule appointments.
