  • Chromebook and Laptop Hardware Support

    Beginning Monday, May 4, Information Services will be moving their technology repair shop to South Elgin High School. Just as before, appointments for hardware issues and pick up for an approved laptop can be scheduled using the Computer Support Appointment Request Form, and you will receive a confirmation email after submitting.

    As a reminder: Non-hardware technology issues will be addressed remotely using the email. Due to the volume of requests received for password resets, Information Services has opened an email box to address them quickly. Please send your password reset request to, and dedicated personnel will address it promptly.

    The new location for technology repairs are as follows:
    South Elgin High School, ticketing office, using door #5
    760 E Main St, South Elgin, IL 6017

    No new student Chromebooks will be provided at this location, but further Chromebook distribution guidelines will be forthcoming.  

    Appointments will be available on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Extended hours and dates might be added as needed. 

    Each appointment will only be about 10 minutes. There will be a quick collect and swap process. 

    Only one person is allowed to attend the appointment to practice safe social distancing. Please do not attend if you are feeling sick; you can send a representative on your behalf, or you can cancel or reschedule by replying to the confirmation email.

    These guidelines are structured to make sure the U-46 Information Services department can process all requests quickly and safely for everybody. Please follow these guidelines so we can better service everybody that needs hardware support.
