Dual Language

  • The English Language Learners Department remains committed to equity, supporting the whole child and affirming our families’ cultures, languages and identity.  In order to maintain our goals of developing bilingualism and biliteracy, the Department will adhere to the established language allocation for the Dual Language program as best as possible during remote and hybrid instruction, while ensuring families have access to resources/support in both languages in order to facilitate parental support during remote learning.

In order to continue fostering academic and language development at home during remote learning, one of the most important ways families can support their children is to actively engage them in activities, such as conversations and readings, in their home language for a solid foundation of language development. This does not preclude families, however, from exposing their children to experiences in the other language.
