Important Update about Before- and After-School Care at Creekside
July 20, 2021
Dear Creekside Elementary School Families,
The start of a new school year is just around the corner! Classes resume Monday, Aug. 16 for kindergarten through 12th grade students, while Monday, Aug. 23 will be the first day of school for incoming preschool students.
We are excited to share that School District U-46 will be implementing more student-based academic teaming across all schools this school year and even more excited to share that Creekside Elementary School has been selected to be a model school for this work. As a model school, to be called a School of Rigor and Equity, the entire school staff will receive professional coaching and support that aims to properly implement this teaching and learning method, and ultimately improve student academic achievement. More details on what this will look like at each school will be provided at the beginning of the school year.
In order to provide additional time for students to extend their learning and work in academic teams, we are offering a before- and after-school care program to the students at Creekside Elementary School. We’re pleased to share that as a School of Rigor & Equity, this before- and after-school programs with our partner, Right At School, will be free to Creekside families who are interested and that registration is now open.
