Each department at Eastview Middle School has its own policy regarding late/missing homework assignments. Please select the department below to open a Word documents that will explain the department's late policy. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher.

Art:
- Grading and late work policies for Art Rotation:
- Homework will have two grace days to be turned in, after that it can be turned in for a score of 1. The student will have until the last Monday of the quarter to turn in any late work.
- All in classwork will be done when stated by the teacher. If it is not completed by the given date, the student will have three more days to work on the project in class. After the three extra days it will be turned in whether it is complete or not. The student can always come in during lunch to finish the project for a higher score up until that last Monday of the quarter.
English:
- Up to one week late = 1 mark deduction
- After one week = maximum of 60% credit or a “1”
- Work accepted until one week prior to end of the quarter
Computer Aplications:
- Late daily assignments and projects will be assessed a one letter grade penalty. Late work will be accepted until the 2nd to last day of the class. No late work will be accepted after that point.
Family & Consumer Sciences:
- All work accepted until the Monday of the last week of the quarter
- Work turned in within two school days of due date is accepted for full credit
- Work turned in more than two days late will receive a 1 on the 4 point scale.
- Students are not allowed to participate in cooking labs until the District Careers Common Assessment is complete.
- Students may not be allowed to participate in cooking labs if in-class work is not done.

LATE POLICY
- 70% credit, must be turned in before the last week of each quarter
GRADING POLICY
- Formative Assessments = 20%
- Summative Assessments = 80%
RETAKE POLICY
Students may retake Summative Assessments:
1. Students have one week
2. Must schedule a teacher conference (outside of classroom time)
3. Must complete teacher-supplied review materials before retake
4. Scores will be averaged
Math:
- All homework assignments are worth a maximum of 5 points.
- Completed assignments turned in on the due date earning 80% or greater will be 5 points.
- Completed assignments turned in on the due date earning below 80% will be 4 points.
Late Policy:
- Completed assignments turned in by the test date for that chapter/unit will be worth 3.5 points.
- Any completed assignments turned in after the student has taken the test for that chapter/unit, until the teacher ends the quarter, will be worth 2.5 points.

P.E./Health Late Policy:
- Students will be expected to turn work in when it is due. Students will have one week to turn in the assignment from the time the assignment is assigned. The student will only be able to earn half credit for each late assignment. If no assignment is turned in after a week, it may result in a grade of zero. If more time is needed, arrangements must be made with the teacher.

Science:
Test Retakes:
All students have the opportunity to retake an assessment within one week from the date that the assessment is returned. Students earning a TWO or below are highly encouraged to arrange extra study time with the teacher before the retake. Students will be given an alternate form of the original assessment. Students will receive the higher grade of the two assessments.

Late Work
Students have until the next summative assessment to turn in any current assignments penalty free. After the assessment a zero will be given on the late work.
Social Studies:
Any formative assignments not handed in at the assigned time will be accepted until the summative assessment for that content.
- Summative assignments will be accepted up to three days after the due date. After that, the assignment will be scored a zero.
Note: Retakes are offered to students who complete a summative and show proof of additional practice in order to demonstrate further mastery of content. (Your teacher will determine the timeline for retakes.)
Spanish 7th & 8th Grade:
- Late work is accepted for full credit up to one week after due date or until the next assessment (test or quiz) whichever is sooner.
- The student must take responsibility for initiating this.
Special Ed 7th & 8th Grade:
- Late work accepted up until one week prior to the end of the quarter without penalty for being late.
