Eastview Middle School strives to provide the best learning environment for all our students. As part of our effort to build a positive school culture, staff at Eastview will be implementing the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) program. MTSS is used across the country with demonstrated success for supporting safe and effective learning environments. Our MTSS include specific strategies that reinforce the social and behavioral skills students need to succeed in middle school and in life.

We will begin the school year with activities that will introduce Eastview students to school expectations, or how to be a Positively Awesome Wolf. Some of the events planned include Cool Tools (Behavior Expectation Lessons) and a kickoff assembly.

All students will review and practice our core expectations: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be a Good Citizen. When students demonstrate positive behaviors they have been taught they can earn PAWS, these are points that are earned and will be used for variety of prizes and activities throughout the year.

Please take some time to discuss positive behavior expectations as shown on the Eastview behavior matrix that is posted through the building and available in our office. Your student should understand the expectations in different locations and on the bus. We hope they will be excited and talking about the PAWS they earn and upcoming MTSS activities. Parents are encouraged and welcome to provide suggestions and support in our MTSS program.

We are excited about the opportunities MTSS provides for a school and community partnership that increases student success. Please contact us at school if you have any questions or would like further information. Thank you for your support!

    Sincerely,

    Eastview MTSS
