Mathematics and Literacy

  • At each grade level throughout the Everyday Mathematics curriculum there are a broad range of learning goals. The goals are presented in three categories: beginning, developing and secure.

    • Beginning goals contain concepts that are new or are just being introduced.
    • Developing goals contain concepts that students have been exposed to in previous Everyday Mathematics experiences.
    • Secure goals represent the concepts that students are expected to master at their grade level.

Below are links to the secure learning goals for grades K through 6. You can also find links to District U-46 Balanced Literacy Frameworks. These frameworks outline curricular expectations for reading, writing and language. While the skills that are taught are designed for all students, each student is taught at their independent learning level as determined by a variety of local assessments.
