Dr. Elisa Biancalana
Principal
Bio
Dr. Biancalana has been the principal of Timber Trails Elementary School since 2014. Prior to this, she served as an Assistant Principal in Community Consolidated School District 59. Previously, Dr. Biancalana was the Divisional Chairperson for English Language Learners at Streamwood High School and Dean/Divisonal Chairperson for Social Studies and World Languages at Larkin High School. Dr. Biancalana began her career as a Teacher Assistant in Itasca School District 10 until she obtained a position as a Bilingual Teacher in Wheeling School District 21 and Addison School District 4. Dr. Biancalana also works as an Adult English as a Second Language Teacher at the College of DuPage.
Dr. Biancalana holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois, a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University and a Master’s of Education in Leadership and Administration from Benedictine University. Dr. Biancalana earned her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from National Louis University.

Mr. Todd Duty
Assistant Principal
Bio
Mr. Duty has been the assistant principal of Timber Trails Elementary School since 2022. Prior to this, he spent 16 years at Larkin High School. For the first three years of that tenure, he was the Theatre Arts/ Drama Academy instructor. He then transitioned to administration as the Divisional/ Dean of the Fine Arts, CTE, Visual and Performing Arts Academy and Activities Director. More recently, he was the Assistant Principal of Innovations where he led the aforementioned departments as well as Social Science and AP coordinator.
Prior to his employment in U46, Mr. Duty taught 4 years in Chicago Public Schools- Spending one year teaching 7th grade self contained and three years as a K-8 Drama instructor/ 3rd grade math tutor. He began his teaching career as a Performing Arts instructor at The Woodlands High School in Texas.
Mr. Duty holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Education with a minor in Communications from Northern Illinois University and a Masters in Instructional Leadership from Concordia University.
