  • Hanover Township Welfare Services is committed to improving the welfare of Hanover Township residents experiencing hardships. By providing resources and support, empowering residents in achieving self sustainability, the goal is to serve promptly with dignity and respect. 

    For qualifying residents’ cash assistance programs include:

    • General Assistance: which provides monthly financial assistance to persons not eligible for any other state or federal assistance programs and who do not have adequate income or resources to provide for their own basic need, and
    • Emergency Asistance: for residents in life-threatening situations who have no income for 30 days. Residents can only qualify once every 18 months.

    Hanover Township has established strong networking relationships with many other Suburban Cook County agencies so they can better connect township residents with information and referrals.
