Exposure to peanut and peanut products can be life threatening. By following simple guidelines, the exposure for affected students can be minimized.
- Students should not share food in the lunchroom. Each student should eat his or her own lunch whether it was purchased at school or brought from home.
- Utilize frequent and effective hand washing practices. This will not only help decrease the transmission of peanut allergens, but also the transmission of germs.
- Adhere to requests for peanut-free treats for parties and celebrations in the classroom. If you are in doubt, ask your School Nurse or classroom teacher.
