Hello, Families of Glenbrook Elementary!
I am honored and excited to join you as the Assistant Principal at Glenbrook Elementary. The 2024-2025 school year will be an amazing year of learning because the staff at Glenbrook are engaged and committed to developing each child's potential.
I come to Glenbrook with a deep understanding of public education, policy, and curriculum. I have been an educator for over 24 years as a teacher, coach, facilitator, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Director. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. I also have a Master's Degree in Urban Teaching and a Master's in leadership. I have an educational doctorate from the University of St. Francis. I am humbled to bring my skills and assets to the Glenbrook community.
The Glenbrook learning community values rigorous academic push and is compassionate and committed to each of our student's needs. The work can't be done without you as our partner. At Glenbrook, everyone is family; we always seek ways to involve and engage you in your child's academic journey. Teachers and staff are eager and ready to support each student by using child-centered strategies, prioritizing safety, using equitable approaches, and being culturally responsive to the needs of students and the wider community. Indeed, our school is ready for the next level of excellence.
During the coming year, I prioritize building relationships with all families, students, and staff members. I want to get to know every family at Glenbrook. I will meet and greet families during school events, arrival and dismissal, and lunch periods and find opportunities to share in our success. Lastly, visiting your child's classroom and witnessing the phenomenal teaching of critical thinking by teachers to prepare their students for the secondary experience and beyond. I also understand and value the student voice and agency. I will work side by side with Principal Sharma and the continuous improvement team to foster opportunities for students to have a voice in shared decision-making.
Glenbrook is powerful. I am so proud to be a member of this learning community. I look forward to this coming school year because I know together we can do great things. If I can be of service, please do not hesitate to reach out to me for support.
Kindest Regards,
Dr. Caridad Garcia
