Many students learn in English and Spanish everyday here at Highland Elementary School. One-Way Dual Language Programs serve Spanish-speaking students in grades kindergarten through four and Two-Way Dual Language Programs serve native English and Spanish speakers in kindergarten, first and second grade. Every year we will add another grade level until we offer both types of dual language in all grades, kindergarten through sixth.

The goal of dual language education is to provide instruction in two languages, helping students become bilingual and biliterate by junior high.
