Hilltop Elementary School is a diverse Pre-K-6 learning community of over 450 students from Streamwood, Elgin and Hanover Township nestled amidst the wooded hills on the most northeastern edge of Elgin.
Hilltop is one of 51 elementary schools in School District U-46, the state's second largest school district, which serves 11 different communities. Hilltop opened its doors in 2004. In 2011, Hilltop became a Dual Language school that offers One-Way and Two-Way Dual Language programs.
Hilltop has some of the finest, most experienced teachers in the district and is home to a variety of community-centric activities, such as Hanover Township's Open Gym, and Navigating the American Educational System (NAES).
Hilltop is an 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. school. Many students stay beyond the school day for tutoring or exciting after-school activities like Discovery Spanish, art club or movie club. Hilltop also partners with Right at School (before/after school programming), where students can stay until 6 p.m. and proudly serves breakfast beginning at 7:40 a.m.
