Mrs. Vilchis began her career in U-46 in 2004 as the testing specialist for the Family Welcome Center.  In this role, she collaborated with families to facilitate smooth transitions into the district and ensured accurate instructional placement for English learner students.

In 2017, Mrs. Vilchis joined Otter Creek, initially serving as a 6th grade dual language teacher before transitioning to teaching 5th grade in the dual language program.

Now as Assistant Principal, Mrs. Vilchis is proud and excited to continue serving the Otter Creek community in a new capacity.  She is inspired by the dedication and commitment of the Otter Creek staff and community members and remains motivated to enrich the lives of the students at Otter Creek School.

Mrs. Vilchis earned her Master's Degree from Roosevelt University and her Bachelor's Degree from Illinois State University.  She also holds Bilingual and English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsements.
