District U-46 requires a minimum of 40 credits to graduate high school including the following requirements:

• Students must also meet requirements in each of the academic areas below.
• Students must pass the Illinois and United States Constitution exams, which are part of the required Civics course.
• By law, all juniors must take the SAT.
• All students are required to fill out an FAFSA, alternative application, or a non-participation for student financial assistance.

 
Each semester course is worth one credit.
 
Students at DREAM Academy can earn up to 6 credits per semester for a total of 12 credits for the school year.
 
DREAM Academy has two semesters per school year.
