•  Channing Elementary Kindergartners

Welcome to Channing Memorial Elementary School! We serve 460 Kindergarten through the 6th grade students enrolled in our Dual Language, Bilingual Special Education, and General Education programs. Approximately 300 students participate in the Dual Language program and become proficient in both English and Spanish.  As a result of our stellar work teaching students to be biliterate and bicultural, we were recognized as an International Spanish Academy, a program of cooperation between The Ministry of Education and Science of the Kingdom of Spain and the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies.
Channing families play an integral role in our success. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meets monthly to collaborate with teachers and school administration to offer the best education for our students. The PTO also hosts monthly family events as well as our popular annual Fiesta Channing that generates a crowd of more than 500 people! We enjoy our school community. Our Helping Hand program offers another way for parents to get involved and support our teachers. Most importantly, please know that Channing's doors, first opened in November 1968, are always open. We are honored to serve you and answer your questions, hear your concerns, and your suggestions. If your student attends Channing, you are a Cheetah and a part of the Channing Family.
