Our Mission

  • Our StoryParkwood elementary students standing for the pledge

Parkwood is a place that offers the safety and security that all children need to grow and succeed.  At Parkwood, all staff members work together to create a safe and nurturing environment, and we pride ourselves on being the recipient of a School District U-46 Safety Award.

Parkwood focuses on both the academic and social-emotional support for all students. Staff engages in understanding and embracing diversity.  Using student learning styles, we engage in differentiation and flexible grouping as we adjust learning for all students.

Students, parents, and staff support decision-making and guide focus on the extension of our school as a center of academic learning and problem solving through Restorative Practices. We are proud of the work we do to provide the best possible education for our students.

Believing that all children will learn, we prepare our students to meet the challenges ahead through the pillars of GRIT – Perseverance, Resilience, Tenacity, Integrity, and Self-Confidence. Amazing things happen at Parkwood every single day!
