Mrs. Lisa Olsem

Mrs. Lisa Olsem has been the principal of Kenyon Woods Middle School since the 2016-17 school year. Lisa brings several years of leadership experience to Kenyon Woods from her roles at South Elgin High School (SEHS) where she served as the Associate Principal since 2014.  In her role as the Associate Principal, Lisa coordinated school operations, including the master scheduling process. She also served as the testing coordinator for ACT, SAT, PARCC and Advanced Placement exams.  Prior to her Associate position, Lisa served as the 10-month Assistant Principal at SEHS and oversaw the Guidance department, Dean’s Office and AVID.  From 2009-12, Lisa served as a Divisional Chairperson at SEHS and the Instructional leader for the Math, CTE, BEACON Academy and Science departments.  Lisa came to U-46 in 2007 and was hired to teach Economics and Psychology at South Elgin High School.  She worked with the Response to Intervention (RTI) programs and implemented a summer Discovery Camp for U-46 during her tenure. 

From 1992-2001, Lisa taught seventh grade Social Studies, seventh and eighth grade Life Skills, and seventh grade Consumer Education in Schaumburg School District 54. During her tenure in Schaumburg, she worked on realigning the seventh grade Social Studies curriculum and developed and implemented hands-on curriculum to integrate technology within the consumer education coursework.
