    Congratulations to our Science Olympiad Team for pulling out all the stops at the 2019 Illinois finals this weekend. Team Abbott medaled in 10 events and 2 of those were 1st place! Then for the first time in our 6 year history Team Abbott placed 4th overall in their division!

     

    The cast of the school play will rehearse today in the library until 5:00! We are running the whole play so everyone needs to attend! We have 7 days till our first show!

     

    Girls soccer practice continues this week. 8th grade girls practice Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:30 to 5:00.  Girls 7th grade soccer practices Monday and Wednesday from 3:30-4:30. Please bring your soccer permission forms with you to the first practice if you haven't turned them in yet.  If you want to play it isn't too late. Ask your PE teacher for a form or see Mr. Bowman or Mr. Chavez.

     

    Students who have received 5 or less tardies for the semester will receive 50 HERO points that can be used towards Field Day or any other HERO point rewards. These HERO points will be given May 1st. If you are approaching 5 tardies- make sure to make it a point to get to class on time!

     

    Students:  As we are approaching the end of the school year, please remember to be on your best behavior and always show Abbott PRIDE.  Referrals can result in loss of privilege, and you may not be allowed to attend events such as field trips, field day, the dance and 8th grade recognition.

     

    Girl Scouts will meet on Tuesday, April 16 in Room 203 from 3:30 to 5:00pm to work on their Primitive Camper badge and work on skills needed for their upcoming camping trip.  Don’t forget your permission slip for TAMBU! (leave until 4/16 - Rossi)

    FREE EVENT- Wednesday, April 17th at 6:30 PM at the Hemmens in Elgin. Come hear (pronounced Shoe-Tez-Caht) Xiuhtezcatl Martinez an 18 year old indigenous environmental activist and hip hop artist speak about the Roots of Revolution and Conservation. Contact your science teacher or Mrs. Ashton for information on free tickets to attend!

     

    If you are interested in attending a sports summer camp at Larkin, then pick up the form in the office for more information.
