It's never too early to sign up for our 5K event - El Trote de las Calacas.

The U-46 Educational Foundation and the Gail Borden Public Library Foundations are once again partnering to host the 5K El Trote de las Calacas – our second annual Skeleton Trot, which will be combined with an exhibit at the library as well as a festival celebrating the Day of the Dead.

You can sign up here to run or walk in the 5K, which will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025 – with the race beginning at 9:00 a.m. The starting line is near the Main Branch of the Gail Borden Public Library at 270 N. Grove in Elgin.
