Thanks to your generous support, the U-46 Educational Foundation has given away more than $418,000 in scholarships to U-46 seniors. Click here for a list of our 2024 scholarship recipients. As the leading provider of scholarships for deserving U-46 students, we are proud to offer so many opportunities for our seniors. We work in collaboration with many local organizations and individuals, and we thank our scholarship providers for thinking of us as good stewards of your investment.

The U-46 Educational Foundation manages several scholarships, including:

- The Carolyn Van Slyck Memorial Scholarship
- Dual Language Portfolio Certification Scholarship
- LEAD Academy Aspiring Leaders Scholarship

The following scholarships are affiliated with the U-46 Educational Foundation, but have their own application.
- The Dr. Jean Bowen Scholarship Fund (apply at SEHS English office)
- The John A. Krafft Scholarship (apply at Elgin High School Athletic office)
- The Elgin Breakfast Rotary G. Michael Greene Scholarship
- The Malik M. Brown Memorial Scholarship
- The Alice Pragman Award for English Excellence
If you are looking for the Ron Raglin Teaching and Learning Scholarship, click here. The scholarship is still offered within U-46, but it is now affiliated with the Ron Raglin GameChangers.

1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. According to the Federal Student Aid, website, the FAFSA form will be available on or before Dec. 1, 2024. The results of the FAFSA form provide an estimate of what federal student aid a student may be eligible to receive, and their Student Aid Index, which will be entered into the scholarship application.
2. Start thinking about a school "resume." Make a list of all extracurricular activities, volunteer activities, and any paid employment. Include leadership roles you've filled and all awards you've received.
3. Think about what makes you stand out. For all scholarships using the Foundation’s Online Scholarship Application, you will be required to write essays or answer questions on a specific topic. Examples of essay questions are listed in the column on the right.High School Activities List Example
