What is PBIS?
-
PBIS teaches students to display good behavior and rewards them when they make good choices. PBIS stands for "Positive Behavior Interventions and Support." Some behavior components of the program include:
- A common approach to discipline
- Positively stated expectations for all students and staff.
- Procedures for teaching expectations
- Continuum of procedures for encouraging demonstration and maintenance of expectations.
- Procedures for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the system on a regular basis.
