Dear Elgin High School Students and Families,
I hope this email finds you and your families healthy and well. It is my pleasure to share with you that Mr. Jamie Crosen has been selected to serve as the principal of Elgin High School, effective Monday, October 5, 2020.
We welcome Mr. Crosen back to U-46 after most recently serving as Executive Director of Instructional Initiatives and Campus Supports at Fort Worth Independent School District in Texas. Prior to this, he served as the principal of Larkin High School from 2017 - 2020 as well as in multiple leadership roles outside of U-46, including assistant principal at Roberto Clemente High School where he led the school in achieving authorization for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Mr. Crosen began his teaching career in 2006 as a history teacher in the Chicago Public Schools.
Mr. Crosen’s strengths are in building relationships and developing collaborative teacher teams to work toward a common vision in order to support student growth and success. He also knows and understands the goals, priorities, and systems in U-46. His experience working in a variety of schools and leading initiatives to improve outcomes for students makes him a great fit to lead Elgin High School.
Mr. Crosen earned his Bachelor of Science degree in geography at Chicago State University. He earned his Masters of Art degree in educational leadership from American College of Education.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Crosen as the new principal of Elgin High School.
