    COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS 

    Administer Justice - Temporarily closed until stay at home order is lifted, but staff is still working remotely. Attorneys will be conducting client appointments for civil cases via phone or video calls. Current clients can reach out with questions on their cases at help@administerjustice.org. New and current clients can call 847.844.1100 and leave name, phone number, reason for call, and best time to call back.     Boys and Girls Club of Elgin - all facilities are closed. Visit their website or Facebook page for updates. 

    CASA Kane County - Child advocacy services continue remotely. 

    Centro de Informacion - Effective Monday, March 23, Centro de Información is limiting all routine face-to-face services with clients at all of our offices. Please call 847-695-9050 for services at the Elgin office and 630-550-5131 for services at the Hanover Park office. The East Dundee office will be closed during this time. We will provide services by phone as much as possible. When face-to-face services are needed, there will be a screening process. 

    Community Crisis Center -  Remains staffed 24/7 every day to provide emergency shelter for victims of domestic/sexual violence and their minor children; court advocacy for those seeking Orders of Protection; individual counseling via the phone for victims and their children; Partner Abuse Intervention (PAIP) and Anger management: Assessments, Individual and Group Counseling via telehealth online platform; and monitoring of the 24-hour Crisis Line at 847-697-2380 with information and referral.

    Easter Seals - Open with limited services. Teletherapy is available except for children under 3 years of age. Pediatric therapy (children older than 3 years) remains critically important and extraordinary steps are being followed to assure the safety of clients and staff.

    Family Service Association of Greater Elgin - Providing most of its services through telehealth, including new referrals. The Mobile Crisis Response (SASS) services continue through 800-345-9049 for those who are at risk to themselves or others. Phone (847-695-3680) hours are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Greater Elgin Family Care Center - all health centers are open with regular hours. Virtual Visits are available for medical and behavioral health patients. Patients can call the main number to schedule a Virtual Visit. COVID-19 testing is available at Seneca Health Center (450 Dundee Ave., Elgin) by appointment only.

    Latino Treatment Center - phone calls are being answered during normal business hours Monday-Friday 9 am to 7 pm. Group and individual outpatient treatment services are available using telehealth. New clients can call the main number 847-695-9155 to set up a virtual appointment with a counselor.  Additionally, virtual appointments for DUI and early intervention clients are available. For additional information please contact us at info@LatinoTreatmentCenter.com.

    Side Street Studio Arts - online art tutorials available here

    The Literacy Connection - temporarily suspended all literacy programs, this includes Citizenship and English Conversation Groups, Face-to-Face Tutoring, Family Literacy Programs and Tutor Training. Our office is open and operating with limited hours from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM Monday through Thursday. This could change at any time. Staff will be available to address any questions and concerns related to our programming by email or phone only.

    The Salvation Army - open two days a week (Tuesday: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) to distribute household essentials such as toilet paper, dish soap, body soap. Call or text 224-801-4466

    Two Rivers HeadStart - Emergency Assistance: limited financial assistance for crisis intervention in the areas of rental, medical, glasses, transportation, and dental care services.

    Well Child Center - is operating the WIC program at most sites, except St. Charles. All appointments are done curbside and they are accepting new families. In response to limited grocery options, WIC participants can choose milk that most closely matches the one on their food vouchers when the milk listed on their voucher is not in stock. Illinois WIC is allowing this through 5/31. The Pediatric Dental Clinic is open to dental emergencies only.

    YWCA of Elgin - the building remains closed due to the shelter in place order. 

    • SACC: When the shelter in place order is lifted we will begin normal SACC services.  For now, DHS will continue payments until the end of April.  The decision to continue payments will be decided by DHS as the month progresses. 
    • AEFL: Classes have resumed online per ICCB requirement for distance learning.

    HIGHER EDUCATION

    College of DuPage - campus is closed

    Elgin Community College - College planning events are canceled and the campus is closed

    Judson University - campus is open with limited access. Classes have all been moved online and students from the United States have been sent home. International students are still on campus.

     

    PUBLIC LIBRARIES

    Bartlett Public Library - remains open to the public but programs are canceled 

    Carol Stream Public Library - currently closed to the public

    Gail Borden Public Library - all branches are closed

    Poplar Creek Public Library - all branches are closed

     

    NEED VOLUNTEERS

    The Salvation Army - Receiving food and pre-boxing food boxes on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

    Comprehensive list of volunteer needs:

    • Extra cleaning/sanitizing hours as well - between 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus a flexible 90-minute timeslot on Fridays as well.
    • Distribution of Food: Monday & Thursday evenings 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.; Tuesday 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.; Wednesday 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
    • Food Sorting: Monday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings 8:00 a.m. – Noon (come for 2 or 4 hours)
