FAFSA IS A GRADUATION REQUIREMENT
Public Act 101-180 (effective 6/01/20) requires that public high school students must complete the FAFSA or, as eligible, the Alternative Application for Illinois Financial Aid, as a prerequisite to receiving a high school diploma.
A waiver provision basically allows a parent, guardian, or the student – if 18 or emancipated – to opt out for any reason.
If you are not planning on completing the FAFSA, click the link to complete the FAFSA Nonparticipation Form. Forms can be scanned and emailed back to Karen Lawson at karenlawson@u-46.org or dropped off to the SEHS Counseling Office.
