  • PSAT/SAT TESTING APRIL 12-13


    Attention all underclassmen: on Wednesday, April 12th, all sophomores will be taking the PSAT exam and juniors the SAT exam. Freshmen and seniors will not be in attendance. On Thursday, April 13th, all freshmen will take the PSAT and Juniors will take the Illinois Science Assessment. Sophomores and seniors will not be in attendance. Your testing locations will be emailed to you and posted in the main office, on the wall near west commons, and near 116. Please bring two # 2 pencils, your calculator, and your ID, and juniors bring your fully charged Chromebook on Thursday. It is very important to report to your test location at 7:40am. You will be dismissed right after the completion of testing and lunch will be available in the commons at this time. Please note that bus transportation will not be available until 2:55pm on Wednesday. Please arrange your own transportation if possible. On Thursday, April 13th, buses will be available at 12:30pm. If you do not see your name posted or if you have any questions, please stop by the main office.


    Attention all seniors: Due to testing, Wednesday, April 12th and Thursday, April 13th are non-attendance day for seniors. Please take this opportunity to fill out college applications, schedule college visits, pursue scholarships, and schedule job shadow opportunities.

Fees for High Schools- 2022-2023

  • U-46 Food & Nutrition Services

    For the 2022-23 school year, School District U-46 will again offer breakfast and lunch meals at no cost to all students at all U-46 schools. The following will answer some questions families might have about food and snacks during the school day. 

    Fee Waiver Requests 

    Even though meal applications will not be necessary for the 2022-23 school year, families may be eligible for additional benefits by completing our Fee Waiver Request Form. (Versión en español aquí.) This form has been updated for the 2022-2023 school year. Please know that students are still allowed to bring a lunch from home. The lunch provided for students at no cost is completely optional.  Click HERE for more information.

    Please take note that there is NO MEAL APPLICATION this school year.

     Optional Fees Include:

    Driver Educ. Behind-the-Wheel $ 250.00
    Driver Educ. Textbook $ 13.00
    Lifeguard Course Fee $ 45.75
    Independent PE 1-2 Course Fee $ 15.00

    Athletic Participation Fee (per sport) $ 150.00  
    Athletic Fee Football $ 200.00  

    Student maximum of two sports fees per school year/family maximum of four sports fees per year at the high school level  

    Optional Fees (NO Fee Waiver)

    Parking Permit $ 100.00
    Activity Fee $ 40.00
    Basic Yearbook (no customizations) $ 45.00

    On-line Payment: Parents and/or guardians will have the option to pay on-line using a credit card, checking or
    savings account number. The District will waive the online processing fee.

  • College Planning Workshop 3/22

    Elgin High School invites all U-46 Senior parents of college bound students to attend a college planning workshop on Wednesday, March 22nd @ 7pm in the EHS Auditorium. This workshop will give you and your students strategies on how to leverage your award letters  to save you money and pay the absolute lowest price for college! The presenter for this free workshop is Mark Salisbury of  Tuition Fit. Mr. Salisbury is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tuition Fit and has twenty-five years of experience in higher education as a coach, admissions counselor, and administrator. He earned his PH.D in Higher Education from the University of Iowa. The mission of Tuition Fit is to build a world where everyone can find a college option that is affordable, accessible, and transforms the range of opportunities that awaits them after they graduate.  Register using the QR Code on the flyer below.
