This course is for students who would like to strengthen their public speaking skills. The course will offer a supportive setting to practice presenting to a variety of live 2018•2019 Course Selections 67 audiences. In addition to public speaking, further performance opportunities included in the area of communications are radio broadcast and interpretation. Students will analyze the role of communication in our lives, the communication model, spatial relationships, delivery styles, and the effectiveness of language, gestures, and organization techniques.
Prerequisites: None
Activities: Discussion, peer critiques, formal and informalspeeches, group presentations,research, standard debates, and development of visuals.
