Internships

An internship is a short-term job or position that people can take as a way to learn about a job, field, or career. Internships can be paid or unpaid. They may or may not also offer academic credit. Anyone who has been in a class taught by a student teacher has been around someone going though an internship - that's what your student teacher is doing! Here are some internships that Streamwood High School is aware of.

Leonard & Sons - Masonry - Algonquin, IL.  Leonard and Sons offers paid apprenticeship in which the individual will learn the science of fire, chimneys, sweeping and the skill of masonry repair - all while building a viable and lifelong career skill set. We seek individuals interested in learning a trade via hands-on, in the field training while also being paid. Information Flyer. or Application Link.

Operation HomePort. Looking for Interns to work in Child Development Centers on US Navy bases around the country, and in select locations overseas, such as Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, and others.  These are four-month, paid Internships.  The Interns will make at least $15 per hour, 40 hours per week, with their travel and housing paid for.  Operation HomePort provides exciting opportunities that combine travel with personal and professional development for a wide array of individuals (Gap Year, current students, recent graduates, or Career Changers)!  https://operationhomeport.weebly.com/
